There are literally hundreds of College Scholarships out there ready to be awarded to deserving students. There are scholarships for Academics, Athletics, Arts and even scholarships based on religious beliefs. Students who are of the Catholic faith have some scholarships available to them. There is a wide range of different scholarships that fall into this
category. Here is a list of scholarships that offer College Funding for Catholic Students.
The Catholic Aid Association College Tuition Scholarship offers scholarships for students who are going into their first or second year of College and be enrolled in a certificate degree program. You have to have the application filled out by the deadline, this program offers no exceptions. The awards handed out by this program ranges from $ 300 to $ 500 for undergrad students. It may not seem like much but $ 300 would be enough to cover the cost of your books for the first year.
Next is the Father Krewitt Scholarships, this scholarship has some very specific requirements to determine eligibility. For example, for this scholarship you must be a member or the child or grandchild of a member of the Catholic Kolping Society of America. You have to provide proof of your enrollment in a College or Post High Vocational Program. There is an essay that has to consist of no less than 500 words and no more than 1000 words. You may not have been awarded this scholarship in the past. You must send everything in triplicate to the committee. You can apply on line at the Kolping.org; this scholarship has up to $ 1000 awarded to just one student who is an undergraduate student.
The Knights of Lithuania National Scholarships are award anywhere from $ 1000 to $ 4000 every year to just 3 or 4 students who can prove they are from Lithuania decent. There is no age limitation for this award, you must complete the required applicant and each applicant will be scored on recommendations from the student’s Council President or Council 3rd Vice President or a Former teacher and you should have character references. Lastly the ICF College Scholarships to High School Seniors. This scholarship offers anywhere from $ 500 to $ 1000 for anywhere between 170 and 200 students. These awards are for Catholic Undergraduate students of Italian heritage that are chosen from different states. First year students may receive
$ 400 and over 200 applicants receive this money. You can fill out this application online at the icf.org website.
There are plenty of other scholarships such as the Francis P Matthews and John E Swift Educational Trust Scholarships and the John W McDevitt (Fourth Degree) Scholarships.
